Abstract
How risky is noncardiac surgery in patients with ischemic heart disease? What is the management role of the primary care physician before, during, and after operation? In the first of two articles, Drs Corapi and Della Ratta focus on risk assessment before surgery. Their second article, beginning on page 265, examines perioperative management with emphasis on postoperative myocardial infarction. Keywords
