Abstract
We study binding corrections in a pion-deuteron like system assuming S-wave separable potentials. In a Watson multiple scattering expansion (or Faddeev calculation) binding corrections of a given order appear in multiple scattering terms of different types. Individually, these corrections are quite large but taken together substantial cancellations occur. As a consequence the naive impulse approximation becomes very good. Analytic methods are used throughout. Keywords
