Abstract
Sporozoa are abundant in the liver but seldom cause clinical distress. The endodermal elements have a rich coccidial fauna. The vascular mesoderm supports malarial parasites in bats (endothelium), and in birds (Kupffer cells); and the parenchymal mesoderm supports the malarial parasites in man. Individual liver cells may respond enormously to protozoan invasion, but the organ as a whole seldom shows much reaction. Such type of histological change is unique in morbid cytology.
