Superconductivity and first-principles understanding of the phonon structure of transition metals

Abstract
A formula for is derived which is of the form . The first term peaks in the middle of the Periodic Table and drops off at its ends and is of the same order of magnitude as the experimentally determined . The other terms are discussed.
