Abstract
Growth of pollen tubes in the style of redosier dogwood (Cornus sericea) plants was observed after self- and outcross pollinations and seed sets on nine F1 plants crossed in diallel were recorded. Incompatlble pollen tubes were inhibited in the style and the F1 progeny fit into four intraincompatible inter-compatible classes. Self-Incompatibility in C. sericea is controlled by a one-locus, multiallelic gametophytic system. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
