Abstract
On December 27, 1972, Mr. William Ruckelshaus, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, announced a 60-day delay in the implementation of regulations that, over the next five years, would reduce the content of lead in gasoline by approximately 1/2. During this delay, which ends March 11, 1973, the administrator is seeking further comment from the public and the scientific community on the hazards to health from airborne lead.
