Abstract
On December 27, 1972, Mr. William Ruckelshaus, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, announced a 60-day delay in the implementation of regulations that, over the next five years, would reduce the content of lead in gasoline by approximately 1/2. During this delay, which ends March 11, 1973, the administrator is seeking further comment from the public and the scientific community on the hazards to health from airborne lead. This issue is said to be the most controversial to face the agency in its young career, and the nature of its resolution will be critical to the public welfare. Each year . . .Keywords
