Abstract
Dibutyril cAMP and the cPDE-inhibitor theophylline both enhance the phagocytotic activity ofTetrahymena. Theophylline and cAMP-activating histamine are synergistic. It follows that the cAMP-adenylcyclase system functions in the unicellular animalTetrahymena. Keywords
