Abstract
The reaction of both isomers of methyl styryl sulfoxide (Ia) with the title chloride affords methyl phenacyl sulfide (IIa) and phenyl(α-methylthio)acetaldehyde (IIIa) besides β-chlorostyryl methyl sulfide (IVa). Phenyl styryl sulfoxide reacts similarly.Keywords
