Abstract
Angular correlation patterns in the reaction, between alpha particles leading to the 6.13-Mev excited state of and the corresponding gamma rays, have been measured for proton bombarding energies of 873, 935, 1250, 1280, 1346, and 1372 kev. The patterns confirm earlier spin and parity assignments and permit quantitative determination of the relative importance of high orbital angular momenta in the formation and decay of states. In two cases, the higher -values participate much more strongly than might be expected from elementary barrier considerations.
