Abstract
The construction and use of equipment to measure the force required to pull a plant vertically from the ground as an index of corn root strength is described. Results from measurements of six inbreds in 2 yr demonstrated the efficiency of the method and identified significant differences in root strength among inbreds. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
