Abstract
A survey of tourists' awareness of prices for attractions and activities showed they had low levels of knowledge about actual prices charged. As with previous studies in other sectors, it was difficult to find variables to explain differences in tourists' level of knowledge. In particular, there was no difference between independent travelers and packaged tourists and no consistent differences on the basis of actual experience of products. Over all the products surveyed, three statistically significant associations were found. Depending on nationality, size of group, and sex, the accuracy of price awareness differed significantly. However, the total amount of variance explained was low. Keywords
