Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A seventeen-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of lethargy.A year previously she had missed three successive menstrual periods. A physician found that she was anemic and prescribed medication of unknown type. Seven months later she began to feel "run down"; there had been a 10-pound weight loss. A slight malar flush and spider angiomas under the nose and right eye were observed. The hemoglobin was 11.6 gm per 100 ml. The white-cell count was 8100, with 39 per cent neutrophils, 44 per cent lymphocytes, 15 per cent eosinophils, 1 per cent monocytes . . .Keywords
