Abstract
Ten human and 24 animal populations were surveyed serologically by means of the dye test for antibodies for Toxoplasma gondii. The prevalence of antibodies was found to vary from 0% among Alaskan Eskimos to 68% among residents of Tahiti. Similar differences were found among the various animal species. This makes it unwarranted to generalize on the prevalence of toxoplasmosis from either one locale or one species to another. Antibodies were encountered with equal frequencies among human males and females. Keywords
