Study of the DecayΛ(1520)Σ(1385)π

Abstract
The decay Λ(1520)Σ(1385)π has been studied in an energy-independent partial-wave analysis of the reaction KpΛπ+π in the momentum range 300 to 470 MeV/c. The width is found to be Γ=1.40±0.26 MeV. Combining this result with one recently reported for Λ(1690), we obtain a singlet-octet mixing angle |θ|=73°±10°, in disagreement with the value θ=25°±6° derived from the two-body decays of the JP=32 states.
