Thyrotoxic Myopathy with Disturbance of Potassium Metabolism

Abstract
A case was studied of thyrotoxic myopathy with minimal clinical evidence of hyperthyroidism and complete recovery of the myopathy with treatment of the hyperthyroidism. Impaired glucose tolerance and increasing weakness with decreasing serum K levels following carbohydrate ingestion were demonstrated Muscle weakness completely disappeared with administration of 0.6 g KCL 3 times daily.Keywords
