Abstract
Thin films of the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system were prepared on (100)MgO substrates by coevaporation of Bi2O3, Sr-Ca alloy and Cu metal, and the effects of film composition and annealing time on superconducting trasition temperatures were investigated. By post deposition annealing at 890°C for a long time, the films with relatively high-Ca compositions showed a superconducting transition with a zero-resistance T c of 107 K. A high-Ca composition and long annealing time were necessary to prepare films with a zero-resistance T c over 100 K.Keywords
