Abstract
Seventy‐one obese adolescents participated in behavior modification or exercise/nutrition‐education weight loss programs in three schools. Sixty‐four percent in the behavioral program and 63% in the exercise/nutrition program decreased their percentage over ideal weight. The comparable effectiveness of the two approaches indicates that school‐based programs of behavior modification and exercise/nutrition‐education can be implemented by school health professionals and can reliably produce weight loss among children. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
