Abstract
Fourteen depressed patients were given the dexamethasone and ACTH suppression tests. The results of 71% agreed, suggesting that in a subgroup of depressed patients dexamethasone resistance reflects a central rather than peripheral dysfunction of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis.Keywords
