Abstract
The rationale for using the thallium-technetium subtraction scan as a preoperative localizing study in previously untreated patients with primary hyperparathyroidism is presented. The concept of unilateral parathyroidectomy is also presented, and the role of preoperative localizing studies in this approach to parathyroid surgery is carefully analyzed. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
