Abstract
N-Bromosuccinimide oxidation split C-tryptophyl linkage at pH 3.5, and both C-tryptophyl and C-tyrosyl linkages at pH 4.5, and at the same time, oxidized cystine and methionine residues to cysteic acid and methionine sulfoxide, respectively. Analysis of the N-bromosuccinimide oxidation fragments indicated the presence of the following tryptophanyl and tyrosyl sequences: Try-Gly, Tyr-Phe, Tyr-Gly and Tyr-Arg in alpha-chain, and Try-Gly, Try-Thr, Tyr-Glu and Tyr-His in beta-chain.Keywords
