PSEUDO SUPRASELLAR TUMORS

Abstract
During pneumoencephalography, air may be trapped by anatomic structures producing shadows that closely simulate a tumor. The most common of these is the arachnoid membrane. The roentgenologic techniques that will clarify the diagnostic problems include complete filling of the chiasmatic and interpeduncular cisterns, laminography in the erect and recumbent positions, and careful identification of the optic and infundibular recesses of the anterior 3rd ventricle.
