Abstract

Of 44 soil samples examined 22 yielded Phycomycetes, all but 2 of which were spp. of the chytrid genus Rhizophlyctis. Rhizo-phidium marshallense n. sp. and Olpidium rhizophlyctidis n. sp., both parasitic on Rhizophlyctis, are descr.
