Abstract
Experimentally produced bladder and urethral calculi in the albino rat were analyzed by micro-chemical, spectrographic, and optical methods. Magnesium ammonium phosphate hexahydrate was the principal constituent, although small amts. of a Ca phosphate were generally found. The calculi contained very small amts. of citrate. Spectrographic studies confirmed the presence of Mg and phosphate and indicated the occasional presence of small amts. of Na, Fe, Al and Si. Study by optical and chemical methods suggested the presence of carbonate-apatite.Keywords
