Quantum effects in spin glasses

Abstract
The variational approach of Fischer (1975) is extended to include the quantum nature of the static order parameter q in a spin glass. This simple mean-field calculation indicates the absence of an Edwards-Anderson spin glass phase for S=1/2 Heisenberg spins.Keywords
