Abstract
There are 2 waves of bulges during the early ontogenesis of the nervous system in Mus musculus. The 1st consists of bulges called proneuromeres, the 2d of bulges called neuromeres. Both waves start in the rostral part of the nervous system and spread caudally. The disappearance of the proneuromers and the neuromeres begins a short distance caudal to the otic vesicle and in the caudal part of the neural tube. The formation and disappearance of the proneuromeres take place very quickly. This would explain why earlier authors have not interpreted them as independent structures. Keywords
