Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A 70-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital after a barium-enema examination revealed an annular mass at the hepatic flexure of the colon.Examination disclosed poorly localized abdominal tenderness; no organs or masses were felt. The urine was normal. The hematocrit was 33 per cent; the white-cell count was 8300, with 77 per cent neutrophils. An x-ray film of the chest revealed that the lungs were clear. A 99mTc sulfur colloid liver scan was normal. Laparotomy on the sixth hospital day revealed numerous tiny nodules throughout the omentum and mesentery; the liver and pelvis . . .
