Abstract
The existence of static triaxial shapes is investigated in the framework of the Hartree-Bogoliubov method. Although some statically triaxial nuclei are found the main result of the calculation is the softness of nuclei. This fact implies appreciable dynamic triaxiality for most nuclei.
