Home-Based Contingency Systems for School Problems

Abstract
This paper reviews selected literature on the use of daily/weekly report cards with parent managed contingencies to modify school learning and behavior problems. Issues in the development, implementation, evaluation, and fading of such programs are discussed. Home-managed contingency systems were found to be effective in modifying numerous school-related problem behaviors and easily implemented under a variety of circumstances. Questions for future research and basic guidelines for implementation of such systems are presented.
