Abstract
Of 336 men attending a subfertility clinic and 12 men studied as a part of the investigation of the female partner, 10 had major chromosome anomalies and 3 had unambiguous chromosomal variants. In addition to sex chromosome aneuploidy, extra, small marker chromosomes and D/D Robertsonian translocations (which were previously reported in other studies), there were 7 men with rearrangements, including a paracentric inversion of chromosome 7 and X/21 reciprocal translocation. These rearrangements would have been difficult or impossible to identify without good banded preparations. Rearrangements may be more frequent in association with subfertility than was appreciated. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
