Abstract
A general expression is derived for the -matrix elements for a self-interacting boson field in interaction with a classical current. The probability for the emission of boson radiation up to a certain total energy is determined, and it is shown how infrared divergences are canceled or reduced. The formal extension by functional methods to a quantum current is indicated.
