Abstract
Only for Li and Cs among the liquid alkali metals do the density of states and its energy derivatives show significant departures from the free electron model. In addition, the density of states of liquid Hg numerically calculated has a depression near the Fermi energy. The effect of the electronic density of states on the electronic mean free path has been investigated by introducing Mott's density of states ratio g.Keywords
