High-intensity approximations applied to multiphoton ionization

Abstract
We show that the most commonly used high-intensity approximations as applied to ionization by strong electromagnetic fields are related. We also discuss the applicability of the steepest-descent method in these approximations, and the relation between them and first-order perturbation theory.Keywords
