Abstract
Variational calculations of several excited states of H2- are reported. The structure observed in e-H2 scattering around 11.5 eV is attributed to 2 Sigma g+ and 2 Pi u resonances. Further evidence is provided that the predissociation of the 2 Sigma g+ states causes the oscillations in the dissociative attachment cross section observed near 12 eV. The lowest 2 Delta g resonance is found to be near 11.7 eV.Keywords
