Abstract
7-C14 anthranilic acid was diazotized, coupled to ovalbumin and injd. intraven. into rabbits. The antigen was rapidly cleared from the blood and deposited in liver, spleen and bone marrow. Immediately after injn. most of the antigen was found in the proteins of the microsomal fraction of liver and spleen. Later, the bulk of the antigen was found in the proteins of the mito-chondrial fraction where it persisted for at least 5 months. This supports the view that the presence of antigen is a prerequisite for antibody formation. Keywords
