Abstract
We construct and solve a model for multiparticle production which obeys unitarity exactly. We find, in agreement with some earlier results, that there are no rescattering corrections to inclusive production in this model. We examine the assumptions which lead to this result, and we discuss the consequence of this result for the phenomenology of the parton model. We find that, in a wide class of factorizable models, the inclusive cross section for heavy-virtual-photon emission is independent of the strong interactions. Keywords
