Abstract
An attempt was made to identify the catabolic metabolite of adenine nucleotides in x-irradiated thymocytes. Hypoxanthine began to be released into the extracellular medium in the early phase of 2 hours' incubation at 37°c with glucose after irradiation. The amount was dependent on x-ray doses ranging from 0·5 kR to 32 kR and may possible explain the loss of the adenine nucleotides after irradiation. Keywords
