Abstract
The electronic structure of O (x≃0.95) has been studied by photoemission spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation. Fe 3d character in the valence band is found to extend over a wide energy range from the top of the valence band to the satellite region, ∼15 eV below it. On the basis of resonant photoemission results, the main band is assigned to L screened final states (L represents a ligand hole) while the satellite is assigned to -like final states, though hybridization or overlap between these two groups of final states is stronger than in the case of .
