Abstract
Histamine concentrations were determined in hay and silages fed to dairy heifers in order to investigate the possible relationship between histamine and silage dry matter intake. Although there was a statistically significant relationship between histamine level and the dry matter of the silages, data indicated that histamine was not a factor in inhibiting silage intake. Urinary and fecal histamine levels did not reflect the amount of histamine ingested. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
