Abstract
The blood-brain barrier to trypan blue remains efficient at brain temperature of 16[degree]C and higher in the adult cat; and at 13[degree]C and higher in the newborn pup. The barrier to trypan blue is partially disrupted at brain temperatures at and below 9[degree]C. The accuracy of Broman'' s method for supravital analysis of the barrier was confirmed in cats in which the barrier was found to be disrupted at 9[degree]C or less using either supravital or intravital methods. Keywords
