Abstract
The electron and positive ion emissions observed in the work cited are noted to be inconsistent with the Saha-Langmuir equation. Moreover, the observed exponential dependence of ion yield on incident laser energy is shown to be inconsistent with thermal evaporation in either the low or the high fluence regime. It is suggested that the most likely cause of this ion emission is multiple-photo-ion emission. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
