Abstract
Variations in the value of the effective Fano factor, F, have been observed in Ge(Li) detectors using a collimated beam of ¿-rays to irradiate selected areas in the sensitive region between the n+-and p-contacts. For regions near the n+-contact where the trapping of electrons is minimized, F was found to be statistically less than 0.11.Keywords
