Abstract
OBJECTIVE: Our objective was to assess the technical feasibility, safety, and accuracy of sonographically guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy of superior mediastinal masses by the suprasternal route. CONCLUSION: Sonographically guided biopsy through the suprasternal route is safe and effective for lesions in the pretracheal, right paratracheal, and prevascular compartments of the superior mediastinum. This procedure is especially useful for lesions with an acoustic window too small for parasternal biopsy under sonographic guidance. Keywords
