Abstract
➤ This article describes new uses of the telephone which have reduced survey interviewing costs. Wasted travel time has been reduced by making advance appointments by telephone, with no reduction in cooperation. Long distance telephone interviews of doctors, and telephone screening for visual impairment have also been proved successful. Keywords
