Abstract
The possibilities of using the technique of gamma -ray diffractometry to investigate twinned crystals are described; the influences of static or alternating external fields, temperature and elastic constants have been studied on a ferroelectric-ferroelastic sample of KH2PO4. Several mechanisms are proposed to explain the crystal deformation; these involve analysis of the Bragg peaks and the modification of the rocking curves. Keywords
