Abstract
Factors affecting the electrical resistance of fibres are considered because of the importance of their influence on the occurrence of static charges. In particular, the evidence in favour of an equation relating dielectric constant and resistance is examined, and new evidence put forward. Following a summary of the dielectric properties of fibres, the influence of molecular structure is discussed. Keywords
