Abstract
Parotid gland slices from rats were shown to synthesize amylase when incubated aerobically in the presence of a multiple amino acid source. The slices secreted amylase into the surrounding medium. Secretion and total amylase synthesis was increased by pilocarpine. Atropine not only depressed secretion of amylase but decreased the total amylase synthesis. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
