Abstract
The ac susceptibility and electrical resistivity of several dilute Pd Mn alloys containing between 0.5 and 2.5 at. % Mn have been measured. The ac susceptibility, taken in various collinear biasing fields, exhibits a peak close to, but above, the Curie temperature Tc. If it is assumed that the behaviour of the magnetization in the critical region close to Tc is governed by the scaling law equation of state, then the occurrence of such peaks follows directly. Such an approach also predicts a temperature and field dependent variation for such peaks which we have attempted to verify. The latter then lead us to estimates for the critical indices δ and γ for this system. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
