Abstract
Virtual absence of efferent innervation, late development of extracellular fluid spaces, and early vesicular degeneration of hair cells and nerve endings are findings revealed in the Shaker-1 strain of mice by study with the electron microscope. These morphological abnormalities can be correlated with the physiological measurements that other authors have made of the development of auditory function in these animals. Keywords
