Abstract
A detailed analysis of the rare τ decay via τ→μee¯ and τ→μμμ¯ in the string models with E6 symmetry is reported. It is found that Γ(τ→μee¯)∼(6−7)Γ(τ→μμμ¯) and these rates are in general about 1000 times less than that of Γ(μ→eγ). It is also found that the outgoing muon in τ→μee¯ is almost 100% right-handed polarized and the outgoing electrons would be predominantly parallel to each other. These decay processes may be accessible at the Superconducting Super Collider. Keywords
