Abstract
A partition chromatogram using the 2 liquid phases produced by mixtures of ammonium sulfate, ethylene glycol monoethyl ether ("cellosolve") and water was devised with kieselguhr used as the inert support. On such chromatograms crystalline ribonuclease gave without difficulty zones having convenient rates and symmetrical form. It was found to contain 2 enzymically active components in the approx. ratio 10:1. Evidence was presented which suggested that both forms pre-exist in ox pancreas. Keywords
